The Myanmar Forest Certification Committee (MFCC) was first established as the Timber Certification Committee of Myanmar (TCCM) in 1998; after 24 years, the Secretariat of the MFCC thinks it is about time to revisit the vision and mission statement and revise it to make sure it’s attuned to what is happening in the environment globally and locally.

MFCC felt strongly about making sure our secretariat team had input in refreshing our vision and mission, so MFCC secretariat team including the project coordinator and secretary, first proposed the new vision and mission statements to the 1st MFCC meeting which consists a broad range of members and carefully selected the statements step by step. While the vision provides inspiration and describes where we ultimately want to be as a National Governing Body of Myanmar, the mission identifies our purpose and defines what we will do on a daily basis to reach our goals.

“ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာထာဝစဉ်တည်တံ့စေသည့်ရည်မှန်းချက်များအားအထောက်အကူပြု‌ပေးနိုင်ရေး နှင့်သစ်တောသယံဇာတများကိုထိန်းသိမ်းသောရေရှည်တည်တံ့စေသည့်နိုင်ငံတစ်ခုဖြစ်လာစေရေး။”

"To advocate the forest ecosystems and forest conservation through Sustainable Forest Management practices and timber legality certification in Myanmar and develop the international market through sustainable timber industry."

“မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၏ထာဝစဉ်တည်တံ့စေသော သစ်တောစီမံအုပ်ချုပ်မှုအလေ့အကျင့်များနှင့် တရားဝင် သစ်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ထောက်ခံချက်ပေးခြင်းတို့မှတဆင့် သစ်တောဂေဟစနစ်များနှင့် သစ်တော ထိန်း သိမ်းခြင်းများကို ထောက်ခံအားပေးရန် နှင့် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့စေသော သစ်အခြေခံစက်မှုလုပ်ငန်း ဖြင့် နိုင်ငံတကာဈေးကွက်ကို ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်လာစေရန်။”

With the new statements, MFCC reflect our commitment to carry out forest and timber certification and create an enabling environment for the sustainability of Myanmar Forests in line with the international framework.
