MFCS endorsed as Myanmar National Standard (MMS 32:2022 Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification)

Myanmar National Standard (MMS 32:2022 Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification)

MFCC submitted “Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification Standard (2020)” to the Standards Development Division of National Standards and Quality Department under Department of Research and Innovation, Myanmar; to define Myanmar National Standards.

In accordance with duties and function of Section 5, Article b and vested mandate of Section 33, Article (b) of the Law on Standardisation, National Standards Council endorses “Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification Standard (2020)” as Myanmar National Standard “MMS 32:2022 Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification” on May 18, 2022. In order to develop the certified forests and sustainable forest management certification, the certification process by Myanmar National Standard, Myanmar Forest Certification Scheme will be able to be implemented.

Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification (Myanmar Version)

An English version of the “Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification (2020)” was approved on 19 June, 2020. Currently, the project management team is in the process of translating the standard from English to Myanmar language and it will be approved shortly according to the MFCC standard setting policy.

Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification Standard Checklist/Audit Form

The project management team is finalising the Checklist/ Audit Form (Draft) based on “Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification (2020)”. MFCC internal meetings have reviewed and revised the verifiers step by step. The “Myanmar Criteria and Indicators for Forest Management Certification (2020)” Checklist/ Audit Form will be approved according to the MFCC standard setting policy.
