The Auditor training took place in Yangon, 2-3 May 2019, with the field trip and demonstration audit to National Wood Industry on 4 May.
This auditor training was organized by PEFC together with the Myanmar Forest Certification Committee.
The training has been given by Mr. Richard Laity, PEFC South East Asia Representative. Attendees include a wide range of participants from international stakeholders, responsible persons from saw mill, private companies and independent auditors as well as from certification bodies. Furthermore, the training was also being observed and offered inputs from the Confederation of Trade Union Myanmar too.
In day 1 of training, there was an introduction and detailed walkthrough of PEFC Chain of Custody as well as the Management system. Moreover, it also covered Due Diligence System including all key requirements combined with group exercises.
In day 2, more detailed of DDS as well as CoC methods, PEFC logo usage, CB requirements were covered in the training together with the exercises.
This training also ensured that all participants involved in the process is fully up-to-date on changes to the standard and on interpretation and explanation of specific requirements.
